About Basildon and Pitsea Carnival

We have made the sad decision to cancel the 2020 Carnival and Festival. We will be back next year to celebrate our 100th anniversary!

Basildon & Pitsea Carnival Association was formed in 2000 with the merger of Pitsea & Vange Carnival Association and Basildon Carnival Association.

The first Pitsea Carnival was around 1921 and Basildon Carnival started in 1958.

In 2015 we rebranded the old Fete as Basildon & Pitsea Carnival Festival. Focusing round a main stage with live music and entertainment, as well as the stalls and other events you would expect at a festival.

2019 was a very wet day and we thank all those that did come along and take part.

2020 and we are looking for more sponsors so we can add more to the event. And we would like more companies, groups or people to take part in the Parade.

Our aim over the next few years is to grow and modernise both the Parade and Festival.

We hold the Carnival and Festival every July to provide a day of entertainment for the local community and to help raise the profile of many local groups and charities.
